Summary day by day Cachicata Trek

Day 1: Cusco – Racca – Soqma Falls – Korimarca:

After being picked up from your hotel in Cusco at 7:00 am, drive to the town of Racca to begin
the Inca Quarry Trek to Machu Picchu. The trek lasts 6 hours, visiting Ñaupa Iglesia (2967m /
9734ft), the village of Soqma, the waterfalls of Perolniyoc and the Inca site of Rayanpata. We
camp in the town of Korimarca (3,611 m / 11,847 ft).

Day 2: Korimarca – Inti Punku – Choquetacarpus:

Wake up with a cup of coffee or coca tea in your tent, have breakfast and begin the 4-hour
ascent to the Charkahuaylla pass (4450 m / 14599 ft). After lunch, visit the Inca site
Intipunku (gate of the sun) and enjoy the incredible views of the snow-capped mountains.
Camp at Choquetacarpo (3600m / 11811ft).

Day 3: Choquetacarpo – Inca Quarry – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes:

After enjoying a delicious breakfast, descend for 3 hours to the Inca Cachiccata Quarry,
considered one of the largest Inca quarries in Cusco. Lunch is a particular barbecue
“Pachamanca”. Then continue to Ollantaytambo and I took the train to Aguas Calientes.
Spend the night in a hotel.

Day 4: Explore Machu Picchu – Return to Cusco:

On the last day, get up early and take the first buses to Machu Picchu. The guided
tour begins with a short visit to Intipunku or Puente Inca. Then, explore the Inca
stone temples and grand palaces. You will have time to explore on your own and
then take the panoramic Vistadome train back to Cusco. Arrival around 7:30 pm.
